Built in Malibu. Earned in Hollywood.

I've been part of the Malibu community my entire life. That's not a marketing line — it's the foundation of everything CH Design is.

It started in 2001 with Malibu Cellular, a cell phone store on the coast that I transformed into Malibu Dream Theatres in 2002 — a full home theater showroom built entirely on passion, self-taught expertise, and an obsession with what technology could do for the way people live. As a kid I was always taking things apart and putting them back together — and somehow always had a few extra screws left over when I was done. That curiosity never left. No formal training. No blueprint. Just a relentless drive to figure it out and do it better than anyone.

Over the next two decades, I built one of the most sought-after client rosters in Los Angeles without ever placing a single advertisement. Every project came through word of mouth. Every referral was earned by treating the current job as an audition for the next one — not just delivering what was promised, but making the client so satisfied they couldn't imagine recommending anyone else.

That philosophy shapes everything about how I work. The goal was never just to finish the job and collect a check. It was to become the person a client calls first — for the next project, the next home, the next problem that needs solving at 10pm on a Friday.

Growing up in Malibu meant growing up alongside the people who define Hollywood. When relationships are real, referrals follow naturally. The client roster that resulted — Oscar winners, network executives, A-list actors, and the most recognized names in entertainment — wasn't built through advertising. It was built through trust, discretion, and work that speaks for itself.

Today I operate as a boutique consultancy — one principal, total accountability, and a standard of service that no large firm can replicate. I'm one of a small number of designers in the country authorized to create DCI-certified private cinemas through the Bel Air Circuit, delivering the precise technical standard of a Hollywood screening room inside a private home.

My philosophy hasn't changed since the beginning: technology should make your life better, not more complicated. It should disappear into the home, respond to the way you actually live, and never once demand your attention. After 20 years of solving impossible problems for the most demanding clients in the world, I know exactly how to make that happen.
